Stawley St. Michael and All Angels

A lovely unrestored church in an idyllic setting just E of the infant Tone. There is evidence of a Norman predecessor in the herring bone walling of the nave. There is no reason to doubt that the tower with its benefaction is of the early 16th century.

Note the 13th-century ironwork on the S door. Inside is a gem of an unaltered unrestored church interior of about 1800.
