Personal Background
My archaeological training and experience began when I took Archaeology as an A-level in 2002, since then I have completed a BSc degree in the subject as well taking part in many fieldwork projects and, lately, my MSc. As part of both my masters and my fieldwork experience I have been introduced to the drawing of plans and sections and the creation of 3D reconstruction models.
For a large portion of my life drawing and painting has been a hobby of mine. As time and technology progressed I expanded this hobby to include the construction of models, digital image creation and manipulation and the creation of levels and 3D objects for computer games. I have been using computers for over ten years during which time I have become familiar with many types of application. These include 3D modelling, GIS, CAD and website creation, which I learnt during my MSc, as well as scientific uses such as statistical analysis.
I am currently employed as an Archaeologist by Thames Valley Archaeological Services. I am responsible for the construction and maintenance of the company website, as well as writing reports for clients and site supervision. As a major part of the website I have created the Report Archive which allows anyone to browse and download over 2000 reports that have been produced as part of TVAS' fieldwork over the past 22 years.
The purpose of this website, designed and constructed by myself, is to show a selection of work that I have completed over the past 8 years, more specifically the computing projects. The work itself has been created using a variety of programmes and techniques.
