Raleighs Cross Mine c.1867 - reconstruction images

Constructing components in SketchUp: the engine and winding houses and the beam engine.

Views of the mine with basic texturing almost completed. The first two pictures show the mine complex above ground.

The following shots show the entrance to the mine shaft and the gantry that carries the tramway over the railway with a semi-textured railway wagon in the foreground.

Three renders and a video of the mine shaft showing details of the gallery, the tram wagons and a cross-section of the length of shaft represented in the model.

The next six pictures were rendered in Vue and were taken during experimentation with the various materials, vegetation and light settings. The first two show the above-ground mine buidlings, the thrird and fourth depicts the miners' cottages and the entrance to the mine complex and the final two show the mine shaft itself. The last image represents the lighting conditions that would have been present in the gallery where the iron ore was extracted.

The following eight images are the renders of the model using the final light and material settings that are displayed on the WSMR website.
